Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday
For those of you coming over from The Un Mom, I thought I'd quickly tell you a bit about myself. I was laid off in January, and I've spent the past few months starting Everything Little Miss, a small design company. I have cards and card sets for sale in my etsy shop. I also do custom work; examples include wedding invitations, business cards, and my dad's website. When I'm not working I spend my time with Eric (roommate, boyfriend, co-author) and looking for a job.

Infomercials might just be the most entertaining programming on TV. Not the super long ones, but the 30 -60 second ones. Why are they always based on the most outrageous premises? I can't imagine a situation where I'd accidentally drop my wallet in a blender, but hey, these folks made one that can take that sort of abuse.

People always say "Sounds like a plan, Stan." What's that called? Does a phrase like that have a name? Anyway, I'm starting a new one of those phrase-thingies. Mine goes a little something like this: "What's the deal, Neil?" Feel free to use it frequently. Maybe we can get a trend going here.

My mom sent me a package for my birthday, and it still hasn't arrived (it should have gotten here by March 26th!). I think a postal monster ate it. Boo hoo.

I rearranged the whole apartment yesterday. I'm still getting used to it, but I think this is gonna be good. I created a new office space that's much more usable. I'm doing a lot of work from home and Eric will have homework starting in September, so usable office space is a necessity

Sara gave me this awesome orange sqeezer (I think the technical term might be juicer) for my birthday. I don't have any oranges, so I squeezed a grapefruit instead. YUM. For those of you who don't know me, I love orange: the fruit, the scent, and especially the color.

Check out The Un Mom and Baby Boogers for more totally random thoughts.

I'm still deciding about sharing pictures of the new setup. :) I have to look at the pictures I took.

Stopping by via UnMom.

I love rearranging my home. My back doesn't necessarily love it - but I get bored easily with the same set up. I love creating 'new space'.

Hope to see pictures!

I'm going to use "whats the deal, Neil", for SURE. It will be a global phenomenon. Sadly you won't get any of the credit. You probably should have patented it first.

Want to come over and rearrange MY furniture?

I need to rearrange my house too...I will have to check out your etsy shop

Sorry about your job loss, that sucks, but hopefully your small business will take off!

I've made up my own similar phrases. I say "Ready Freddy?" to my kids (my daughter ALWAYS responds "My name is NOT FREDDY!) and "Good thinkin' Lincoln" which, for some reason, cracks me up.

Have a great day!

First time I saw that slimclip ad, I logged onto ebay and bought a knock off. Never know when you'll accidentally run over your wallet with a car.

I love phrase thingies! I am completely into giving people random names and abbreviating things too. Language is meant to be twisted and abused.

Infomercials + new baby up at all hours = bad, bad, bad.

Ever heard the phrase "Can it, Janet"? That's my favorite to use with the kids :)

My dad once sent me a care package that took a month and a half to arrive...The USPS is sometimes incredibly slow!!!!

I love all things paper, so I'm probably going to swing by your Etsy shop...Somewhere, my husband just felt an ice cold breeze blow across his neck and he doesn't know why...

Oooh! I like your catch phrase 'What's the Deal, Neil' - I'm totally going to use that and see what the reaction is...(grin!)

I totally need to do some rearranging of my furniture - and mega organizing...I second *sara*'s comment about showing off pictures of your moved furniture... ;)

Happy RTT! :)
