Summer Internship

This morning, Eric got in his car and left for a 10 week adventure/internship in Philadelphia, PA. Right now I'm sad and lonely, but I'm also really excited for him. I'm staying in Boston and I'll be having one or two little adventures of my own.

This weekend I was in Newport for a bachelorette party and Eric was with his parents, so it was a good thing yesterday was a holiday and that we could spend it together. We got up early and walked to Minot Rose Garden (which has exploded with flowers) and then headed to Zaftigs for a late breakfast. When we walked out of the restaurant we thought there was a fire or something. We were sort of right. What we were seeing was smoke from forest fires in Quebec!

We decided to head to Arnold Arboretum in the afternoon to have a look around. We walked all around the park and headed to the top of Peters Hill to get a view of the smoke.

It was my first time at the Arboretum, and it was a pleasure. We had a great day and took our time looking at all of the amazing trees. And we took pictures of each other.

All day I just kept thinking about what we were doing at that moment, so that I wouldn't think about Eric's departure. But the time came anyway, so I'm extra happy that we had such a great day yesterday. I'll just keep thinking about that.

We must be neighbors, Zaftigs is about a 10 minute walk from me. And they have such good food! Sorry you are on your own for 10 weeks - total bummer, but hopefully you'll have some adventures too!

I'm glad you two had such a wonderful day together before he left. You look so cute in your pictures! I'm sure time will seem to be moving at a snail's pace in the beginning, but before you know it the 10 weeks will be over and he'll be home. I miss you....hang in there my dear!
