Minot Rose Garden

Eric and I have this 3 mile walk that we like to do. The best part is that there's a fantastic public rose garden right around the halfway point. We've been walking past it and inspecting the rose bushes for a few weeks now, in anticipation.

roses

Obviously we were in luck this past weekend! There were many, many buds and we saw three roses that were a little bit ahead of the game. I wish you could smell these, because they were just heavenly.

Cambridge Side - Charles River

I took this picture a few weeks ago. I think it looks like a postcard with the geese and the trees.

cambridge side - charles river

My Gramma hates Canadian Geese because they take over her town when they migrate; they make it messy, if you know what I'm saying. So whenever I see them I think of my Gramma and I smile, because I'm happy to be reminded of her.

(Hi Gramma!)

On The Windowsill

These are from the bouquet Eric bought for me. We didn't have a vase big enough to fit all of the flowers, so I separated some out and put them into this old milk bottle.

on the windowsill

They looked so pretty on the windowsill yesterday afternoon. I like the way the stems are all lit up while only a few of the blossoms are illuminated.

The little white teapot was one of the party favors at my friend's tea party bridal shower.

Have a happy weekend!

Hot Pink

This is another picture from Friday, while we were in Cambridge. This hot pink ribbon was holding on to some balloons.

Pink, balloons, and springtime - well that's an awesome combo!

Sorry for the super quick post. I'm headed out the door. Later gators!

A Saturday Surprise

On Saturday Eric went to the store to restock our fridge, and he came back with a pretty surprise for me. I'm pretty lucky, huh?

I took these pictures on Sunday evening, after the irises and tulips opened up a little bit.

*Today on the ELM blog I posted pictures on my senior prom, just for fun. Go have a look-see. :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

bee + azalea

Thanks, Mom, for being the best. For real. THE BEST!

P.S. I chose this picture because my mom's name is Barbara, but many people call her B for short. She's been collecting cool images of Bs (bumble and otherwise) for years, so I thought this would be appropriate for today. I took it at UMass last Saturday.

Tongue

Here's another horse from Blue Star Equiculture, the same farm I mentioned yesterday. It's a cool place that takes in old and unwanted working horses.

tongue

This guy kept licking the fence, but I don't know why. It was pretty silly.

*There's a new Lost in Thoughts on the ELM blog today. The video features Eric's classmate, Jevan, singing Yellow at the a capella concert we went to in April. It's definitely worth watching!

Ears

On Saturday, Eric and I stopped by a horse farm on our way to UMass.

Guess what. It was awesome! We got to spend some quality time with some horses and ponies. Yeah, that pretty much made my day. Visit flickr to see more horse ears.

Stage Crew Dance Team

On Saturday, Eric and I headed to UMass Amherst to see my sister's dance team perform. Before the show, we met up with my sister and Eric's brother for lunch and ice cream.

My parents also came for the show, so we sat with them. Emma was great, of course. I always feel so ridiculously proud when I watch my sister or brother do something cool, like dance or play an instrument. This was one of those times.

The show was the Curry Hicks Cage (a gym on campus), and there were a number of teams and clubs from UMass and nearby high schools performing. We didn't stay for the whole show; it was just toooooooooo hot. I felt so bad for the dancers in costumes with long sleeves. The sweat was just dripping off of everybody, the audience included. Despite the heat, I think we all had a good time. A really, really good time!
